Nature is always in the process of purifying our bodies by casting out waste, 'dis-ease' and toxins. Cleansing, therefore is not a "new, and improved." idea. We are all cleansing right now, and have been since conception. Every cell in our bodies is constantly cleansing.

Every time we breathe out, we've cleansed our body of the metabolic waste known as carbon dioxide. Every time we have a bowel movement, our body is eliminating old cellular material (interesting fact: up to 40% of every bowel movement is dead cells).

Cleansing occurs because our body's cells are constantly dying and being replaced with new cells. Our spleen and liver and stomach cells do it, our intestinal walls do it, even our bones and muscle cells do this regeneration circle of life.

The human body is involved in excretory action from midnight, until dawn and completes it at midday. Toward sunrise, the cells transfer some waste material into the body. This has to travel through the blood to the excretory organs and then out of the body. This process requires water.

The water you drank last night will not remain in your blood and cells - it goes into the kidneys and then out as urine. In the early morning, your body’s water content will be low in the blood. If you consume large quantities of water, it will enter the blood, however, the waste material there will transfer into the water and be excreted as urine.

If we eat before sunset and then rest the body around midnight, the function of fasting begins to do its internal work of digestion and excretion. It continues until we eat something solid again next morning.
If we consume at least 75 percent of our diet as fruits, raw vegetables or juice, and mostly alkalizing foods, these will not hinder the excretory action. If at around 9 or 10 a.m. we ate a light, energizing food like sprouts, or vegetable or fruit juice, the body would be able to complete the excretory process before noon.
If as soon as you get up around 6 or 7 am you were to drink coffee or tea, it would stimulate your body and therefore interrupt the excretory process. That’s why you are advised to take light food without any stimulants in the morning.
Our health depends largely upon the amount of time we give to this excretory process.

If we wish to have bright, energetic bodies free from ailments, we must respect this function of natural fasting and excretion from midnight to midday the following day. The food we eat is converted into energy, but in the process, even waste matter is excreted. It is released in solid, liquid, or gas form. If these three forms of waste material have to be eliminated by our excretory organs, we should at least be considerate of them and provide the body the capacity to do so.
If we eat dinner before 7 pm, our excretory organs will function effectively. However, if we delay eating dinner until 9 or 10 pm, excretory organs will not have sufficient time to run their cycles, and waste material will remain in the body. Food eaten after 10 pm will not be digested completely before we rise the next morning. Typically,  most people get up and immediately eat again without considering that the body has to eliminate the waste material of the previous day.

We eat too much! That alone leads to many complications.

If we wish to be disease-free, we must follow the function and necessity of Rest from eating and activity at night, to allow our bodies to eliminate waste material first. If we don’t adhere to this  function of natural excretion, no doctor, no specialty hospital, and no amount of money can save us. We can be guaranteed longer lives only if we live by this truth.

We have been gifted this body and assigned to follow the five-fold functions of the body (Digestion (based on proper food intake), Excretion, Rest, Water, Exercise). If we ignore these functions or laws of nature, then neither God, nor man-made medicine can save us.

If we want to have good health, there is no other way to gain it other than to follow these five natural functions of the body. You may wonder, "For how long?" For as long as we live!! We are not born on to this earth to only eat, drink and be merry. Such a life only leads to misery in the end.

"Everyone has a doctor in him or her; we just have to help it in its work. The natural healing force within each one of us is the greatest force in getting well. Our food should be our medicine. Our medicine should be our food. But to eat when you are sick, is to feed your sickness." --Hippocrates, M.D., 460?-370? B.C., Father of Medicine

As mentioned above, detoxification involves resting, cleaning and nourishing the body from the inside out. By removing and eliminating toxins, and consistently feeding your body with healthy, raw nutrition, detoxifying can help protect you from disease and renew your ability to maintain optimum health.

It is a process in which potentially harmful compounds are excreted. These compounds are either generated by the body as by-products of cellular metabolic processes, or acquired through exposure to the environment.

The lungs, skin, kidneys, gastrointestinal tract, gall bladder and liver are the organs responsible for the detoxification process. Daily, they work vigorously to rid the body of toxicities and maintain the health of trillions of cells.

Unfortunately, the excessive amount of toxins in the environment has placed such a burden on these systems that they can no longer function optimally. Increased use of pesticides, herbicides, fossil fuel emissions, hydrocarbons, and heavy metals have reached record proportions.

These toxic chemicals and heavy metals accumulate in fatty tissues throughout the body, underneath the skin, in and around the organ systems, and even in the brain.

The liver is considered the major organ of detoxification
, metabolizing proteins and carbohydrates, synthesizing and storing vitamins, and regulating hormones.  Within the liver cells there are a number of intricate mechanisms involved in the breakdown of toxic substances. Every chemical that enters our bodies, including drugs, pesticides, herbicides, and hormones are broken down by liver cells.

When the liver is overburdened due to toxicity, the natural detoxification process is hindered. The kidneys purify the blood. The gall bladder is connected to the liver and its function is to store bile, a digestive liquid secreted by the liver. The bile emulsifies fats and neutralizes acids in partly digested food.

Your body’s ability to cleans, purify and purge toxins is hindered by a poor diet and an overload in environmental toxins. We may NOT need to worry about detoxifying our bodies IF we have healthy kidneys, a healthy liver AND we eat a diet that is mostly raw, whole foods and are living away from air, water and food pollution.

There are some simple steps that we can take that can ....contd...
